Insights from the German-Indian Business Forum

On Sept 24th, 2025 the German-Indian Business Forum at Munich's historic Altes Rathaus was hosted by the Consulate General of India, Munich and GDIZ – German-Indian Association, that brought together senior executives, policymakers, and industry leaders to explore the evolving landscape on Indo-German economic cooperation.

EAC Principal, Rituraj Shailendra, delivered a comprehensive presentation that cut through the noise of global economic uncertainty. His analysis was both timely and incisive - while major economies grapple with headwinds, India continues to outpace them, with robust growth projected at approximately 7% in 2025. This isn't merely statistical optimism, it's underpinned by strategic government spending, evolving consumption patterns, and ongoing GST rationalization that is streamlining business operations across sectors.

Rising trade deficits and dollar demand remain pressure points that require astute navigation. It's this balanced perspective acknowledging both opportunity and constraint that characterized the entire discussion.

The country isn't simply waiting for opportunities; it's actively creating them. From the EFTA and UK agreements to advancing negotiations with the EU, ASEAN, and multiple bilateral partners, India is systematically expanding market access that will reshape investment and export landscapes by 2025.

Rituraj's presentation highlighted how India's rising markets, coupled with accelerating Industry 4.0 adoption, are creating demand for high-end, energy-efficient, and digitally enabled solutions. This convergence presents a sweet spot for German engineering excellence and Indian scale—a partnership built on complementary strengths.

Conversely, for German companies, India offers more than a massive market, it serves as a strategic launching pad for broader regional engagement across Asia. This reciprocal opportunity is what makes the partnership so compelling.

As we reflect on the insights shared from H.E. Shatrughna Sinha's keynote to the perspectives of business leaders across industries one theme emerged consistently: the India-Germany partnership is entering a new phase. It's moving beyond transactional exchanges toward strategic interdependence.

The insights from this forum reinforced precisely why forums like these provide information with actionable intelligence, that transforms strategic intent into measurable outcomes. For our clients seeking to enter or expand within Indian markets, or for Indian enterprises pursuing European opportunities, understanding these pathways is where preparation meets possibility.

The road ahead for deeper collaboration is clear. The question for businesses is no longer whether to engage with this opportunity, but how to do so strategically and sustainably. This is where EAC's expertise becomes invaluable, as our vision states: we think ahead, we prepare our clients for the future.
