As a co-organizer, EAC actively participated in the series of smart energy conferences, including the Sino-Japanese and other countries Hydrogen Energy Industry and New Energy Vehicle Collaborative Development Forum. During this event, our esteemed partner, Mr. Daniel Berger, and Managing Consultant, Ms. Addie Wei, delivered insightful speeches on their respective areas of expertise.

Mr. Berger's presentation centered on the current developmental status and future trends of the global hydrogen energy industry. He emphasized frontier technological advancements and market developments across various countries. Mr. Berger highlighted the incorporation of hydrogen energy into the vital national energy development strategic plans of numerous developed countries, with over 30 governments worldwide issuing their hydrogen energy strategies. Notably, developed countries like the United States and the European Union are placing significant emphasis on green hydrogen industry advancement. In terms of green hydrogen production, chlor-alkali (ALK) and proton exchange membrane (PEM) technologies are prevailing approaches, both having achieved commercialization. Currently, Western countries and Japan have attained relative maturity in technological development along with a well-established industrial chain. However, other Asian countries such as China, Singapore, India, and Malaysia are still striving to catch up. Mr. Berger emphasized that the rapid surge in international demand for green hydrogen has attracted numerous Chinese electrolytic hydrogen enterprises. However, due to their early-stage position in the industrial chain development, they continue to face challenges in technology proficiency, talent acquisition and regulatory compliance.

Ms. Wei's presentation focused on opportunities within the European new energy vehicle market and its industry chain, providing a comprehensive overview and future forecasts. Currently, electric vehicles (EVs) remain the primary driving force behind the growth of the new energy market in Europe. A vast network of charging stations and related industrial chains serves as a crucial strategy for Chinese vehicles to penetrate the European market. The European charging station industry is characterized by high technical barriers at the upstream level and intense competition at both intermediate and downstream levels. The charging module (upstream) plays a pivotal role in this system with demanding technical requirements, whereas intermediate manufacturing barriers are relatively lower. Currently, well-established electrical manufacturers such as ABB and Schneider dominate the overseas market. On the other hand, operating charging stations (downstream) requires substantial capital investment and entails significant entry barriers.
