India’s Electronics Manufacturing Moment

Organised with VDMA India and OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association), the evening opened with remarks from Mr. Sandip Roy (General Manager, VDMA India), Dr. Klaus Hecker (Managing Director, OE-A) and Dr. Sandra Engle (Group Leader, VDMA Productronics), followed by Mr. Rajesh Nath on the Indo-European business scenario.

EAC India Partner, Mr. Ankur Vohra, presented "India's Manufacturing Moment: From Cost Advantage to Technology & Innovation Powerhouse." The presentation traced India's electronics journey through two completed stages, smartphone assembly activation and export expansion, with components manufacturing marking the next stage still to be navigated. Electronics manufacturing services is emerging as the backbone of this ambition. India's base today is still modest next to the global printed electronics market, but the clusters, incentives and infrastructure being built out point to something more durable than factory capacity alone, an ecosystem taking real shape. The presentation closed with three concrete collaboration models spanning manufacturing to market access, set against the scale of EU-India trade and shared technology priorities already in motion.
