"The chemical industry in the Asia Pacific region will continue to be characterized by the world's highest growth rates. At the same time as participating in growth, producers and distribution players alike must not lose sight of their efforts to increase efficiency if they want to survive in the highly dynamic Asian competition and also be/remain at the forefront of innovation."

Over the last few years, the centre of gravity of the global chemical industry has been moving more and more to Asia. From a regional perspective, this shift presents companies with enormous challenges in terms of the availability of raw materials and, in some cases, the under-developed applications industries and their growth. Before there can be an assessment of market opportunities and of the need for local product adaptations there has to be a thorough analysis of customer and competition dynamics.

EAC has many years of project experience in the chemical industry: from basic chemicals (organic/inorganic), petrochemical intermediates and derivatives (plastics, elastomers, fibres), speciality chemicals and performance chemicals to agro- and fine chemicals. On these projects EAC has supported its globally operating clients with, in particular, analyses of markets and application industries, specific competition benchmarking projects and the evaluation and implementation of M&A opportunities.
