VDMA Symposium “Industry 4.0 – The Future Concept of Manufacturing”


EAC was knowledge partner for the VDMA Symposium on “Industry 4.0 – The Future Concept of Manufacturing” held at Gurgaon & Indore on 4th & 6th of March 2020. The event would focus on implementing Industry 4.0 in Manufacturing focusing Automotive, Auto components, Machine tools, Construction equipment and metallurgy sector.

EAC, since many years a a knowledge partner of VDMA India, released a report and presentation on “Readiness for Industry 4.0”. EAC Principal Unmesh Lohite introduced the Industry 4.0 readiness check tool as well as the EAC 5 step transformation model comprising three distinct stages:

- Readiness check stage
- Concept development stage
- Implementation stage

India is at the early stages of Industry 4.0 adoption with global ranking of 44 on digital competitiveness (out of 63 countries) but in transition stage from a silo-based operations to a digitally interconnected real-time ecosystem. Also, India is evolving from the hierarchical automation framework to an interconnected I 4.0 framework with major focus on data generation and data analytics wherein robotics and IOT are the major technologies adopted across industries with automotive and electronics being the key application segments in India.
